2010 Summit Post-Conference Description
The 2010 Summit Emergency Management Conference was held October 5-7 at the Grand Traverse Resort in Acme, Michigan. The conference brought together more than 600 attendees from a variety of disciplines, who had the opportunity to attend training workshops and network with emergency management professionals.
Focusing on "Training… The Key to Success", the conference presented a variety of topics that allowed attendees to refresh and expand their knowledge of the emergency management field. Workshop topics and trainings included strengthening emergency management programs, a new bomb threat assessment tool for schools, planning for the needs of children in disaster, lessons learned, dealing with dysfunctional teams, and understanding Incident Command.
The conference also instituted a new session format allowing attendees to obtain a more comprehensive training experience by attending a variety of two, four, and eight hour workshop sessions. The 2010 Summit served as a tremendous opportunity for attendees to continue growing as experts in the emergency management field.
