The FY05 HSGP provides a single application kit and program guidance for the State Homeland Security Program (SHSP), the Urban Areas Security Initiative (UASI), the Law Enforcement Terrorism Prevention Program (LETPP), the Citizen Corps Program (CCP), the Emergency Management Performance Grants (EMPG), and the Metropolitan Medical Response System (MMRS) Program Grants. Through this program, state and local emergency prevention, preparedness, and response personnel will receive $49,939,143 in grant funding to enhance and improve Michigan’s homeland security efforts.
[See local allocation list.]
These six programs have been integrated into a single FY05 HSGP solicitation to better facilitate the organization, coordination, and management of state and local homeland security funding and prevention, preparedness, and response efforts across the nation, and help ensure that all available federal homeland security funding is leveraged for maximum impact. The consolidation will also strengthen coordination across the six programs and encourage regional collaborative preparedness efforts.
The Department of Homeland Security Fiscal Year 2005 HSGP Program Guidance is now available online at www.ojp.usdoj.gov/fundopps.htm.
Michigan specific guidance will be available as HSGP workshops are conducted during May 2005. For additional information, please contact your MSP/EMHSD District Coordinator.
