Calhoun County Oil Spill

On July 26, 2010, a crude oil leak was discovered near Marshall, Michigan in Calhoun County. Enbridge Energy Partners shut down the pipeline, stopping the source of the oil. Local, state, federal and private sector officials are working together to respond to this incident and ensure the safety of citizens and the environment.

Citizens are advised to stay out of the general area of the spill and avoid contact with affected waterways and wildlife. Residents with concerns, those with oil on their property or people wishing to report affected wildlife can call the Enbridge hotline at 1-800-306-6837.
