Pekrul Promoted to Inspector of Third District

Inspector Daniel Pekrul - Promotion LANSING, MICH. - The Michigan State Police (MSP) is pleased to announce the promotion of D/F/Lt. Daniel Pekrul to inspector of the Third District in Saginaw.

In his new position, Pekrul is responsible for assisting in the delivery of uniformed MSP services to 14 counties in central-west Michigan. Uniformed services include traffic patrols, criminal investigations, emergency services and staffing for task forces and special investigative units.

Pekrul enlisted with the department in 1989, graduating as a member of the 106th Trooper Recruit School. During his 22-year career with the department, Pekrul has served in positions at the Bridgeport and Sault Ste. Marie posts. He has also served as a member of the Governor's Executive Protection Section, the Criminal Investigation Division, the Professional Standards Section and the First District Headquarters Special Investigations Section. Pekrul has held the ranks of trooper, sergeant, detective sergeant, specialist lieutenant, first lieutenant and detective first lieutenant. Prior to joining the MSP, Pekrul served as a corrections officer in Washtenaw County.

Pekrul has a bachelor's degree from Albion College and resides in Haslett with his wife and two children.
