The Michigan State Police (MSP) today announced that 25 public school districts, 24 non-public schools and three charter schools will receive approximately $2 million in state grants to purchase equipment and/or technology to improve the safety and security of school buildings, students and staff. Over 62,500 students will benefit from these security improvements.
Twenty-eight new Michigan State Police (MSP) troopers will report for work at MSP posts across the state next week after graduating from the 132nd Trooper Recruit School this afternoon. Col. Kriste Kibbey Etue, director of the MSP, administered the Oath of Office during the ceremony at the Training Academy.
Gov. Rick Snyder has opened the Disaster and Emergency Contingency Fund to provide financial assistance to affected jurisdictions within Macomb County, due to the sewer collapse experienced in the city of Fraser on Dec. 24, 2016.
