LANSING. Michigan State Police (MSP) Director Col. Kriste Kibbey Etue is pleased to announce that Ms. Jacqueline Reese is the 2011 recipient of the Floyd R. Bell Jr. Civilian of the Year Award.  Reese received the award at a special ceremony in Lansing.

The Civilian of the Year Award is named in honor of the late Floyd R. Bell Jr., a 42-year employee of the MSP, who continuously demonstrated commitment and dedication to the department and his community.

"Ms. Reese's incredible work ethic, positive attitude and leadership by example make her highly deserving of this prestigious award," stated Etue.

Reese is an eight-year employee of the department.  In her role as internal control coordinator she is known for her many successes in improving the department's business processes.  Reese was selected as the 2009-2010 Internal Auditor of the Year by the Michigan Chapter of the Institute of Internal Auditors.

Outside of work, Reese is actively engaged in and committed to family, civic and church organizations, including volunteering as her church's pianist for the last 35 years.  Reese participates in the "Samaritan's Purse" program, providing shoe boxes of supplies to children in need.  Reese also works to support a family farm which has been in operation for over 60 years.

Reese holds a bachelor of arts in business administration from Michigan State University and has worked for the State of Michigan since 1979. Reese and her husband, Robert, have two children and reside in the Lansing area.
