Grants and Community Services Division
The Grants and Community Services Division of the Michigan State Police is responsible for administering federal criminal justice grants in the state of Michigan, including the Byrne Justice Assistance Grant (Byrne JAG) and the Residential Substance Abuse Treatment for State Prisoners (RSAT) Grant.The Division is also involved in various other criminal justice related initiatives and efforts throughout the state of Michigan.
Michigan State Police (MSP) Community Service Troopers (CSTs) are assigned to regions across the state to focus on community outreach to help strengthen communities. They serve citizens in a range of ways, including mentoring youth, working with seniors, educating citizens on emerging crime trends and focusing on community service and training.

Auto Theft Prevention Authority
Michigan Automobile Theft Prevention Authority assesses the scope of the problem of automobile theft, analyzes various methods of combating the problem, establishes a plan for providing financial support to combat automobile theft and grants funds for theft prevention teams.
