Course Description: This course is designed to discuss terrorism, identify basic security tactics required in responding to terrorist incidents, estimate risk and to determine appropriate response actions and precautions for chemical and physical properties of an unknown material, review existing conventional and non conventional monitoring devices, identify appropriate product control methods, identify the components of a decontamination plan for victims, response personnel and equipment that have been contaminated, identify key resources available to communities in the emergency response to terrorism.
Student Prerequisites: · Eighteen years of age or older · Member of an organized Michigan Fire Department

This course is approved by Michigan Department of Community Health (MDCH) for the EMS, C.E. Credits listed below. To obtain credits, the student should write in the credits on the MDCH, C.E. record form. An instructor signature is not required. The student should retain the certificate of course completion for three years; in the event their C.E. Credits are selected for audit by MDCH.
