About ORS |
|
The Office of Retirement Services (ORS) serves the working and retired
public servants of four Michigan retirement systems: Public School
Employees, State Employees, State Police, and Judges. With a customer base
of 530,000 people, ORS affects one out of every 9 Michigan households. We
also work with over 800 employers across the state.
Within these systems, we administer four defined benefit pension plans,
two defined contribution pension plans, and one defined benefit/defined
contribution plan with combined net assets of nearly $47 billion, making us
the 18th largest public pension system in the U.S., the 21st largest
pension system in the U.S. overall, and the 48th largest pension system in
the world. In fiscal year 2010, we paid out $5.6 billion in pension and
health benefits.
ORS is a division of Michigan's Department of Technology, Management and
Budget.
