Defined Benefit Plan Overview

Members of the judge's Defined Benefit plan (primarily covering employees hired before March 31, 1997) are eligible for one of the best public retirement pensions around. Because it is so essential to plan for retirement early in life, this section of the web site aims to give you enough information about your pension so that between your pension, social security, and personal savings, your retirement is all you hope it will be.

Administration of the Plan

The operation of the Judge's Retirement System is controlled by Public Act 234 of 1992, as amended (Michigan Compiled Laws 38.2101 et seq.). Any changes to the Act require passage by the Michigan Legislature.
