Retirement at a Glance

The following chart is a summary of the age and service requirements for different retirement types and the pension calculation for each.

RETIREMENT TYPE 

AGE & SERVICE REQUIREMENTS  PENSION FORMULA
Full Retirement Any age with 25 years of service. FAC x 60%
Deferred Retirement Age 50 with 10 or more years of service. FAC x 2% x Years of Service
Duty Disability No age or service requirements. FAC x 60%
Nonduty Disability No age requirement; 10 or more years of service. FAC x 2.4% x Years of Service
Duty Preretirement Survivor No age or service requirements. FAC x 60%
Nonduty Preretirement Survivor Active member at death - No age requirement; 10 or more years of service. FAC x 2.4% x Years of Service
Deferred member at death - 10 or more years of service.

The benefit is payable the first of the month following the date you would have reached age 50.

Survivor Pension Your spouse or eligible dependents may receive your pension if you die as a retiree. Same benefit as deceased retiree
