Your Insurance Benefits

When you retire, you and your eligible dependents can enroll in the plan's group insurance offerings.

Your share of the insurance premium is deducted from your monthly pension payments. Click here to see current rates.

The health insurance plans include hearing aid coverage. If you choose not to enroll in one of the health plans a hearing aid benefit may be available (unless you took a deferred retirement and have less than 21 years of service).

Health and  Dental/Vision Insurance Dependent Coverage

Coverage always begins on the first day of a calendar month. Your insurance coverage as a retiree can begin on your retirement effective date if you apply online before your retirement effective date, and submit all required proofs within ten days of your online application.

Your eligible dependents are eligible to receive health, dental, and vision insurance. Your spouse is an eligible dependent to be covered. If he or she is also a public school retiree, you will be covered together under one contract.
