Changes to Health Insurance Fiscal Year 2009

The following changes in Health Care insurance were approved by the Civil Service Commission at their December 2007 meeting. These changes will become effective in FY 2008-2009 for all classified employees except those in unit T01.
  • State Health Plan PPO Premium -- Employee premium changed from 5% to 10%
  • Health Maintenance Organization Premium -- Employer premium capped at 95% up to the amount paid for the same coverage under the State Health Plan PPO
  • Annual Deductible -- Changed from $200 individual/$400 family to $300/$600 in-network and from $500/$1000 to $600/$1200 out-of-network
  • Office Visit -- Employee co-pay changed from $10 to $15
  • Emergency Room -- Employee co-pay of $50 if not admitted to hospital
  • Prescription Drug Retail -- Employee co-pay changed from $7/$15/$30 to $10/$20/$40
  • Prescription Drug Mail Order -- Employee co-pay changed from $7/$15/$30 to $20/$40/$80
  • New Prescription Drug Programs -- Generics Preferred, Drug Quantity Management, Step Therapy
