In 2003 Governor Granholm, her Cabinet, and State Employees collectively identified State of Michigan (SOM) shared values: excellence, integrity, inclusion, and teamwork. At this same time the Office of Great Workplace Development (OGWD), a small, agile and creative team, was formed to provide the energy, vision, and tools to support SOM’s role in this change. OGWD’s purpose is to align state government cultures with our shared values to create a great place to do great work.
