<title>Expanded UIA Services for Unemployed Citizens</title>

<description>Like all of America, Michigan continues to struggle with economic recession and job loses.  Obviously, Michigan is uniquely impacted because of the auto industry contraction.<br />
And experts agree that the challenges of the national recession and the auto industry restructuring will continue to hit Michigan hard.<br />
Earlier this week our December unemployment numbers were released, we went up one full point to 10.6.<br />
Traditionally, December and early January are among the busiest times for the Unemployment Insurance Agency, or the UIA, with seasonal layoffs in the auto and supplier industries and retail trade.
