<description>The on-going national recession continues to have an impact on Michigan. So our commitment to growing the state's economy, creating jobs and protecting Michigan families is all the more important.<br />
And in my fight to help Michigan families keep more of the money they earn, I called for and signed into law the Michigan Earned Income tax credit.<br />
This year is the first time Michigan citizens who qualify for a federal earned income tax credit will also be eligible to receive an additional income tax credit from the state.
