Health Care Reform

Across the nation, people are struggling to pay their medical bills, or worse yet, they're avoiding the doctor's office because it's just too expensive.
In the last eight years, health care premiums have grown four times faster than wages. The cost of health care now causes a bankruptcy in America every 30 seconds.
The cost of health care was the focus of the nation's first regional White House Forum on Health Care Reform that was held right here in Michigan this week.
At that forum, doctors, nurses, hospital administrators, insurers, policy experts, working families, and health care advocates spoke of skyrocketing costs that are straining family budgets, crippling businesses, and consuming government budgets - and they offered ideas on how to reform the system.
