Region Seven covers the counties of Clinton, Eaton, Hillsdale, Ingham, Jackson, Lenawee, Livingston, Shiawassee and Washtenaw.

Between July 2006 and June 2007, 10,167 people experienced homelessness. According to the 2000 Census, the percentage of people in this region who live at 200 percent of the federal poverty level is:

  • Clinton - 16.1%
  • Eaton - 18.3%
  • Hillsdale - 26.6%
  • Ingham - 30.3%
  • Jackson - 24.7%
  • Lenawee - 21.7%
  • Livingston - 10.4%
  • Shiawassee - 24.3%
  • Washtenaw - 21.7%

Unemployment rates by county for this region are as follows:

  • Clinton - 6.3%
  • Eaton - 6.5%
  • Hillsdale - 10.6%
  • Ingham - 7.6%
  • Jackson - 9.3%
  • Lenawee - 10.2%
  • Livingston - 6.2%
  • Shiawassee - 9.4%
  • Washtenaw - 6.5%
