The DEQ today announced three spring conferences to help companies, consultants, institutions, and state and local government workers navigate state environmental laws.

The Michigan Environmental Compliance Conference is a comprehensive training opportunity designed to help participants better understand how to comply with Michigan's environmental requirements. Conferences are offered April 26 in Gaylord, May 1 in Grand Rapids, and May 10 in Livonia. Sessions are geared to be relevant for new and seasoned operators alike. Conference highlights include:

  • Three concurrent tracks with more than 15 sessions presented by experienced DEQ staff will cover waste management, water quality requirements, air quality requirements, pollution prevention, energy efficiency, and more.
  • Release of the 7th edition of the "Michigan Guide to Environmental, Health, and Safety Regulations," developed by the DEQ and the Department of Licensing and Regulatory Affairs.
  • An "Expert Area" devoted to offering one-on-one assistance will provide an opportunity to get answers to specific questions and network with state agency staff.

The registration fee of $115 includes lunch, refreshments, and conference materials. Conference details and online registration are available at www.michigan.gov/deqworkshops, click on "DEQ Workshops."
