• Americorps - GRANT CLOSED Funds expansion of the Corporation for National and Community Service AmeriCorps program to recruit, place, and supervise AmeriCorps members to meet critical community needs.
• Community Development Block Grant - GRANT CLOSED HUD-administered; enables local governments to help provide decent, affordable housing and create economic opportunities primarily for low and moderate income families.
• Economic Development Assistance Commerce Department grants to address long-term economic distress in urban industrial cores and rural areas; distributed based on need and ability to create jobs and attract private investment. Priority consideration will be given to those areas that have experienced sudden and severe economic dislocation and job loss due to corporate restructuring.
• Neighborhood Stabilization Program Competitive Grants - GRANT CLOSED U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development (HUD) Neighborhood Stabilization Program (NSP) provides formula and competitive grants to stabilize and redevelop communities, and for technical assistance to support NSP grantees.
• Rural Business Enterprise Program Grants and loans to improve, develop, and finance business, industry, and employment and improve the economic and environmental climate in rural communities.
• Rural Community Facilities Program USDA-administered grants and loans for eligible cities with a population of less than 20,000; may be used to construct, enlarge, or improve community facilities, with public safety and health care facilities given top priority.
• Academic Research Enhancement Award (AREA) - GRANT CLOSED National Institute of Health (NIH) administered grants to support new biomedical, behavioral, or clinical research by faculty members at eligible colleges, universities, and other institutions.
• Advanced Research Projects Agency - Energy (ARPA-E)- GRANT CLOSED Department of Energy-administered grants for the development of energy technologies to enhance U.S. economic and energy security and to ensure the U.S. maintains a technological lead in developing and deploying advanced energy technologies. This funding is focused on high-risk, high-payoff transformational energy-related research and development.
• Applications of Nuclear Science and Technology Grants - GRANT CLOSED U.S. Department of Energy grants to fund nuclear science research and development activities in a broad portfolio of applications, including energy, nuclear medicine, commerce, medical physics, space exploration, finance, geology, environmental sciences and national security.
• Early Career Research Program - GRANT CLOSED Department of Energy (DOE) Office of Science created the Early Career Research Program grants to support the development of individual research programs of outstanding scientists early in their careers, and to stimulate research careers in the areas supported by the DOE Office of Science.
• Early Head Start - GRANT CLOSED HHS grants to Early Head Start agencies to both expand programs and increase the number of families served in existing programs.
• Higher Education Teacher Quality - GRANT CLOSED Department of Education-administered state, partnership, and recruitment grants to improve teacher preparation and recruitment in order to raise student achievement and improve learning.
• Measurement Science and Engineering Research Grants Program - GRANT CLOSED National Institute of Standards and Technology (NIST) research grants to support measurement science and engineering proposals in six focus areas: energy, environment and climate change, information technology/cyber security, biosciences/healthcare, manufacturing, and physical infrastructure.
• NCRR Research Facility Construction and Improvement Grants - GRANT CLOSED The National Center for Research Resources (NCRR), part of the National Institute of Health (NIH), will administer Recovery Act grants for construction, renovation or repair of biomedical or behavioral research facilities.
• NIH "GO" Grants - GRANT CLOSED The National Institutes of Health (NIH) has established Research and Research Infrastructure "Grand Opportunities," or "GO" grants. These grants will support biomedical and bio-behavioral research that will benefit from significant 2-year funding. The research supported by "GO" grants should have high short-term impact, and a high likelihood of enabling growth and investment in biomedical research and development, public health, and health care delivery.
• NIH Challenge Grants in Health and Science - GRANT CLOSED NIH grants for a variety of institutions to support biomedical and behavioral research that would benefit from significant 2-year jumpstart funds; research should have a high impact in biomedical or behavioral science and / or public health.
• NIH Core Center Biomedical Research Grants - GRANT CLOSED Grants to hire researchers and
develop research projects for new investigators, with the goal of augmenting
and expanding biomedical research relevant to NIH. Awards are designed to
enhance innovative programs of excellence by providing scientific and
programmatic support for promising research faculty and their areas of
research.
• NIH Research Instrumentation Equipment Grants - GRANT CLOSED Grants to non-profit organizations, universities, colleges, hospitals and others for purchase of a single piece of biomedical research equipment worth between $600,000 and $8 million. Eligible equipment may include structural and functional imaging systems, macromolecular NMR spectrometers, high-resolution mass spectrometers, cryoelectron microscopes and supercomputers.
• NIH Strategic Autism Research Grants - GRANT CLOSED The National Institutes of Health (NIH) will administer four strategic autism research grants that together represent the largest funding opportunity for research on autism spectrum disorders (ASD) to date. While few trials can be completed in two years, Recovery Act funds will jumpstart projects and build the infrastructure for longer-term autism research efforts.
• Race to the Top Fund Department of Education grants eligible to States that are using innovation and ambitious plans to improve student achievement.
• School Lunch Equipment - GRANT CLOSED USDA grants for the purchase of food service equipment by schools participating in the National School Lunch Program; the goal of the grant is to improve the infrastructure in schools while stimulating activity in the economy.
• Science Master's Program Grants from The National Science Foundation (NSF) to fund Master's level programs in science, technology, engineering and mathematics (STEM), providing students a strong science foundation in preparation for careers in business, industry, nonprofit organizations and government agencies.
• Statewide Longitudinal Data System (SLDS) Grant Department of Education grants to help states design develop and implement longitudinal data systems to capture student data from preschool to high school, college, and career.
• Teacher Incentive Fund - GRANT CLOSED U.S. Department of Education-administered grants to establish performance-based compensation systems that reward teachers and principals for increases in student achievement, and boost the number of effective instructors teaching in hard-to-staff subjects and in high-need schools.
• Teacher Quality Partnership Grants - DEADLINE EXTENDED Grants to improve the quality of new teachers by creating partnerships among institutions of higher education, high-need school districts and schools, and/or high-need early childhood education programs to create model teacher preparation programs.
• Advanced Energy Efficient Building Technologies - GRANT CLOSED Grants from the Department of Energy to fund research and technology development to reduce building energy use, with the ultimate goal of achieving net-zero energy buildings ? buildings which produce as much energy as they consume.
• Advanced Research Projects Agency - Energy (ARPA-E)- GRANT CLOSED Department of Energy-administered grants for the development of energy technologies to enhance U.S. economic and energy security and to ensure the U.S. maintains a technological lead in developing and deploying advanced energy technologies. • Clean Coal Power Initiative Round 3 (CCPI-3)- GRANT CLOSED Grant created to fund advanced coal-based projects that have progressed beyond the research and development stage, and can be readily replicated and deployed into commercial practice within the electric power industry.
• Community Renewable Energy Deployment - GRANT CLOSED Department of Energy (DOE) grants to accelerate market adoption of renewable energy technologies in order to strengthen the United States' energy security and bring clean, reliable and affordable energy technologies to the marketplace.
• Demonstration of Integrated Biorefinery Operations - GRANT CLOSED Department of Energy-administered grant to support integrated biorefinery projects that have the necessary technical and economic performance data that validates their readiness for the next level of scale-up.
• Early Career Research Program - GRANT CLOSED Department of Energy (DOE) Office of Science created the Early Career Research Program grants to support the development of individual research programs of outstanding scientists early in their careers, and to stimulate research careers in the areas supported by the DOE Office of Science.
• Energy Efficiency and Conservation Block Grants (EECBG) Department of Energy-administered grants to governments, Indian tribes, and states to reduce energy use and fossil fuel emissions and for improvements in energy efficiency.
• Energy Efficient Information and Communication Technology - GRANT CLOSED Department of Energy-administered grant to improve energy efficiency in data centers and telecom systems, and develop new technologies to improve energy efficiency in Information and Communication Technology (ICT).
• Enhanced Geothermal Systems Component - GRANT CLOSED Grant from the Department of Energy to facilitate the research, development, and demonstration to establish Enhanced Geothermal Systems (EGS) as a major contributor in electricity generation.
• Enhanced Geothermal Systems Demonstrations - GRANT CLOSED Department of Energy-administered grant to make large amounts of the earth's heat available for productive use through advanced technology that addresses key aspects of site selection and characterization, reservoir creation and validation, reservoir sustainability, and plant operation and management.
• Expansion of Infrastructure for Ethanol Blends - GRANT CLOSED The purpose of this grant is to increase the availability and use of ethanol blend biofuels. Department of Energy-administered grants will fund projects in two areas of interest: Refueling Infrastructure for Ethanol Blends, and Education and Outreach for Ethanol Blends.
• Geothermal Technologies Program - GRANT CLOSED A three-topic grant from the Department of Energy to fund geothermal systems research, exploration, demonstration, and development throughout the United States. Topics include: Validation of Innovative Exploration Technologies, Geothermal Energy Production, and Geothermal Data Development, Collection, and Maintenance.
• Geothermal Technologies Program: Ground Source Heat Pumps - GRANT CLOSED Department of Energy (DOE) Geothermal Technologies Program grants designed to increase the deployment of ground source heat pumps through 1) innovative commercial-scale or residential community technology demonstration projects; 2) data gathering and analysis related to system costs, performance, and installation techniques; and 3) a national geothermal heat pumps certification standard.
• Green Capacity Building Grants - GRANT CLOSED Department of Labor-administered grants to fund workforce development projects that focus on connecting target populations, including auto and auto-related industry workers affected by significant automotive-related restructurings, to career pathways in green industries.
• High Penetration Solar Deployment - GRANT CLOSED Department of Energy-administered grant to conduct research, development, demonstration, and deployment (RDD&D) activities to accelerate widespread commercialization of clean solar energy technologies.
• Hydroelectric Facility Modernization - GRANT CLOSED Grants to industry members or industry-led partnerships for proposals to develop, deploy, and test hydropower projects that would modernize the existing hydropower infrastructure in the U.S. and increase both the quantity and value of hydropower generation, including environmental performance.
• Industrial Energy Efficiency - GRANT CLOSED Grant from the Department of Energy to deploy industrial energy efficient technologies in four areas of interest: Combined Heat and Power, District Energy Systems, Industrial Waste Energy Recovery and Efficient Industrial Equipment.
• Large Wind Turbine Drivetrain Testing Facility - GRANT CLOSED Department of Energy-administered grant to fund the construction and operation of an appropriately sized dynamometer and test facility in the United States, which will enable the wind industry to develop, test and validate large-scale land based and off-shore wind turbine drivetrain systems domestically.
• Local Energy Assurance Planning (LEAP) Initiative - GRANT CLOSED Grants for projects to strengthen and expand local government energy assurance planning and resiliency, reducing the impacts from energy supply disruptions, and creating jobs. Projects should allow cities to better coordinate and communicate on energy security and reliability and related emergency response issues. Eligibility is restricted to U.S. cities.
• New Starts / Capital Investment Grants From heavy to light rail, commuter rail to bus rapid transit systems, New Starts grants will fund new or extended transit fixed guideway systems across the country.
• R & D on Alternative Isotope Competition Grants - GRANT CLOSED Department of Energy-administered grant for research and development in alternative methods to produce and separate stable and radioactive isotopes, and to make critical isotopes more readily available to meet domestic U.S. needs.
• Regional Sequestration Technical Training Grants - GRANT CLOSED Grant from the Department of Energy to provide training in the applied engineering and science of Carbon Capture and Storage (CCS) for site developers, geologists, engineers, and technicians.
• Site Characterization of Promising Geologic Formations for CO2 Storage - GRANT CLOSED Grant from the Department of Energy to fund development of comprehensive data sets of formation characteristics to determine usefulness of potential geologic CO2 storage sites, to augment existing data sets, refine best practices for approving storage site selection, and to characterize a minimum of 10 distinct "high potential" geologic formations for CO2 storage.
• Smart Grid Demonstration Grants - GRANT CLOSED Department of Energy-administered Smart Grid Demonstration grants will fund regionally unique demonstrations to verify smart grid technology viability, quantify smart grid costs and benefits, and validate new smart grid business models, at a scale that can be readily adapted and replicated around the country.
• Smart Grid Investment Grant Program Department of Energy-administered grant to implement the necessary digital upgrades to the electric grid to enable it to work more efficiently and to effectively integrate renewable and energy efficient technologies.
• Solar Market Transformation - GRANT CLOSED Department of Energy-administered grant to expand the use of solar technology by providing technical, regulatory, institutional, financial and educational solutions to market transformation barriers.
• Solid State Lighting US Manufacturing - Round 1 - GRANT CLOSED Department of Energy grants designed to 1) achieve cost reduction of solid-state lighting for general illumination through improvements in manufacturing equipment, processes, or techniques, and 2)to develop, establish, and/or maintain the technology and manufacturing base within the US.
• State Electricity Regulators Assistance - GRANT CLOSED Department of Energy administered grants to ensure that Public Utility Commissions can meet the increased demands and workload resulting from the electricity sector initiatives included in the Recovery Act. Only Public/Regulatory Commissions of the 50 states and the District of Columbia are eligible to apply.
• State Energy Sector Partnership (SESP) and Training Grants - GRANT CLOSED Department of Labor grants to facilitate creation of statewide energy sector strategies, with the goal of developing a national workforce that is ready to meet the demands of the energy efficiency and renewable energy industries.
• State Labor Market Information Improvement Grants - GRANT CLOSED Department of Labor grants to State Workforce Agencies to collect, analyze, and disseminate labor market information, and to use that information to build and implement effective workforce development strategies, and to enhance the labor exchange infrastructure for careers in the energy efficiency and renewable energy industries.
• Transit Capital Assistance Transportation Department funds to purchase transit equipment and to make improvements at intermodal and transit facilities; includes funding for discretionary grants to public transit agencies for capital investments that will assist in reducing the energy consumption or greenhouse gas emissions of their public transit agencies.
• Transportation Electrification Grants - GRANT CLOSED Department of Energy-administered grant to establish development, demonstration, evaluation, and education projects to accelerate the market introduction and penetration of advanced electric drive vehicles.
• Weatherization Assistance Department of Energy grants for energy-related home improvements for low-income customers; grants can be used for improvements to building energy efficiency and energy retention, heating and cooling systems, electrical system, and electricity consuming appliances.
• Brownfields - GRANT CLOSED Environmental Protection Agency (EPA)-administered grants for the cleanup and restoration of contaminated brownfield sites and to provide environmental job-training projects to promote job-creation and economic development by facilitating the assessment, remediation, or preparation of brownfields.
• Clean Water Revolving Fund - GRANT CLOSED EPA-administered low-interest loans to local units of government for the construction of publicly owned wastewater collection and treatment facilities or the construction of non-point source water pollution control projects.
• Coastal Habitat Restoration Grants - GRANT CLOSED NOAA-administered grants for coastal habitat restoration projects, including Great Lakes projects that will result in significant ecological gains, fuel the economy, and that are ready for implementation.
• Coastal Program Grants - GRANT CLOSED Grants to fund habitat restoration projects that address high priority wetland, upland, or riparian habitats in selected geographic areas. Projects must provide direct benefits to migratory birds, threatened and endangered species, certain fish and marine mammals, and species of international concern.
• Drinking Water Revolving Fund - GRANT CLOSED EPA-administered low-interest loans to public water suppliers for the construction of drinking water system infrastructure, including source, treatment, storage and distribution facilities.
• Hazardous Substance Superfund EPA-administered grants for the cleanup of hazardous waste sites; 50 percent of grant funds to be allocated by June 17, 2009.
• Leaking Underground Storage Tanks (LUST) - GRANT CLOSED Funds for EPA investigations and response activities at sites where leaking underground storage tanks (LUST) have resulted in contamination, to mitigate the risks posed by petroleum substances released into the environment.
• National Fish Habitat Action Plan Grants - GRANT CLOSED Fish and Wildlife Service grants for habitat restoration through the National Fish Habitat Action Plan, designed to address high priority aquatic habitats and to provide direct benefit to threatened and endangered species, certain fish and marine mammals, and species of international concern.
• Partners for Fish and Wildlife Program Grants - GRANT CLOSED Partners for Fish and Wildlife Program grants will fund technical and financial assistance to private landowners interested in restoring, enhancing, and managing fish and wildlife habitats on their own lands. Projects must provide direct benefits to migratory birds, threatened and endangered species, certain fish and marine mammals, and species of international concern.
• Rural Water and Waste Disposal Program USDA-administered funds to certain cities and rural areas to construct or modify water, sewer, storm water, and solid waste disposal facilities.
• Watershed Rehabilitation USDA Natural Resources Conservation Service program to provide cost-sharing for rehabilitating watershed dams that were funded under the Watershed Protection and Flood Prevention Program.
• Watershed and Flood Prevention - GRANT CLOSED USDA-administered funds for watershed and flood prevention operations, including expenses to purchase and restore floodplain easements.
• Academic Research Enhancement Award (AREA) - GRANT CLOSED National Institute of Health (NIH) administered grants to support new biomedical, behavioral, or clinical research by faculty members at eligible colleges, universities, and other institutions.
• Communities Putting Prevention to Work Center for Disease Control (CDC)-administered grant to support both urban and rural community approaches to chronic disease and obesity prevention, physical activity and nutrition, and tobacco prevention and control.
• Community Services Block Grant Training and Technical Assistance - GRANT CLOSED U.S. Department of Health and Human Services (HHS) competitive grants to states and non-profit organizations to provide training and technical assistance to local agencies administering Community Services Block Grants (CSBG). The CSBG program provides formula funds to assist low income households achieve self-sufficiency.
• Emergency Food and Shelter - GRANT CLOSED FEMA will allocate funds to supplement and expand ongoing efforts to provide shelter, food and supportive services for the nation's hungry, homeless, and people in economic crisis.
• Extramural Research Facilities Improvement Program (C06) - GRANT CLOSED The National Center for Research Resources (NCRR) grants is to facilitate and enhance the conduct of Public Health Service-supported biomedical and behavioral research by supporting the costs of improving research facilities to meet the biomedical or behavioral research, research training, research support needs of an institution.
• Facility Investment Program - GRANT CLOSED Department of Health and Human Services administered competitive grants to fund one-time facility improvement projects at 330 federally-funded health centers, including major construction and renovation.
• Health Information Technology Funding to modernize the health-care system by implementing the adoption of health information technology, which will reduce health-care costs for the federal government by over $12 billion over the next 10 years.
• Homelessness Prevention and Rapid Re-Housing Program - GRANT CLOSED Provides financial assistance and support services to help individuals and families at risk of becoming homeless; also helps provide housing and stability to those already experiencing homelessness.
• Public Housing Capital Fund - GRANT CLOSED HUD-administered monies for the capital and management activities of public housing agencies, including modernization and development of public housing.
• Airport Improvement Program - GRANT CLOSED Federal Aviation Administration grants to public agencies and some private owners and entities for the planning and development of public-use airports that are included in the National Plan of Integrated Airport Systems.

• Rural Community Facilities Program USDA-administered grants and loans for eligible cities with a population of less than 20,000; may be used to construct, enlarge, or improve community facilities, with public safety and health care facilities given top priority.
• Rural Water and Waste Disposal Program USDA-administered funds to certain cities and rural areas to construct or modify water, sewer, storm water, and solid waste disposal facilities.
• TIGER Grants for Surface Transportation - GRANT CLOSED Transportation Department grants to state and local governments and transit agencies for surface transportation projects that will have a significant impact on the nation, a metropolitan area, or region; funding can be used for any eligible program under the federal surface transportation program, including highway, transit, freight and passenger rail, and port infrastructure projects.
• TIGGER - GRANT CLOSED Department of Transportation-administered grants to U.S. transit agencies for projects that will reduce either energy consumption, greenhouse gases, or both.
• Transit Capital Assistance Transportation Department funds to purchase transit equipment and to make improvements at intermodal and transit facilities; includes funding for discretionary grants to public transit agencies for capital investments that will assist in reducing the energy consumption or greenhouse gas emissions of their public transit agencies.
• Energy Training Partnership Grants - GRANT CLOSED Department of Labor grants to provide training and placement services to prepare workers to enter the energy efficiency and renewable energy industries, as well as green occupations within other industries. Grants will also fund research contributing to the understanding of green jobs and industries through training or Labor Market Information (LMI).
• Green Capacity Building Grants - GRANT CLOSED Department of Labor-administered grants to fund workforce development projects that focus on connecting target populations, including auto and auto-related industry workers affected by significant automotive-related restructurings, to career pathways in green industries.
• Healthcare & High Growth Industry Grants - GRANT CLOSED Department of Labor grants to support workforce training in health care, high growth and emerging industries, and assist individuals impacted by the recession by providing training and job placement, including the transition of auto and auto-related workers.
• Pathways Out of Poverty Grants - GRANT CLOSED U.S. Dept. of Labor administered grants to build cohesive training and support programs that will help target populations find pathways out of poverty and into economic self-sufficiency through employment in the energy efficiency and renewable energy industries.

• Byrne/JAG Grants - GRANT CLOSED Department of Justice (DOJ) grants to states and local governments to support a broad range of activities to prevent and control crime and to improve the criminal justice system; grants allocated based on population and crime statistics, in combination with a minimum allocation to ensure that each state and territory receives an appropriate share.
• COPS - GRANT CLOSED DOJ grants to law enforcement agencies to create and preserve jobs and to increase their community policing capacity and crime-prevention efforts.
• Internet Crimes Against Children - GRANT CLOSED DOJ funds to state and local law enforcement agencies to address internet crimes against children and to help state and local law enforcement agencies develop an effective response to cyber enticement and child pornography.
• Port Security Grants - GRANT CLOSED Department of Homeland Security grant program designed to strengthen homeland security preparedness, including the security of the country's highest risk ports.
• Rural Law Enforcement Grants - GRANT CLOSED U.S. Department of Justice (DOJ) administers grants to assist rural law enforcement agencies through improving the criminal justice system and assisting communities to prevent and combat crime and drugs.

• Violence Against Women - GRANT CLOSED Recovery Act funds will provide additional resources to the STOP Violence Against Women grant program and to provide Transitional Housing Assistance grants for victims of violent crime.
• Wildland Fire Management - GRANT CLOSED FEMA-administered funds for hazardous fuels reduction, forest health protection, rehabilitation and hazard mitigation activities on federal lands and hazardous fuels reduction, forest health and ecosystem improvement activities on state and private lands.
• Youth Mentoring Grants - GRANT CLOSED Grants through the U.S. Department of Justice to support local organizations
that develop, implement, or expand mentoring programs leading to measurable,
positive outcomes for at-risk youth. Eligible organizations include public
agencies and units of local government, public universities and colleges,
tribal governments, and private organizations, including faith-based and
community organizations.
• Broadband Initiative Program Competitive grants for broadband deployment in un-served and underserved areas; includes competitive grants to expand public computer center capacity at community colleges and public libraries, to encourage adoption of broadband, and to establish the State Broadband Data and Development Grant program.
• Health Information Technology Funding to modernize the health-care system by implementing the adoption of health information technology, which will reduce health-care costs for the federal government by over $12 billion over the next 10 years.
• Assisted Housing Stability - GRANT CLOSED HUD-allocated funds for project-based rental assistance, providing 12 months of funding for Section 8 project-based housing contracts to enable owners to undertake needed project improvements to maintain the quality of critical affordable housing.
• Assisted Housing Stability and Energy and Green Retrofit Grants Green Retrofit grants and loans will facilitate energy efficient and other green building retrofits in existing HUD-assisted multifamily housing. Grants are designed to reduce energy demand, reduce water consumption, lower operating costs, improve resident quality of life, reduce overall impact on the environment, and create jobs in the green building industry.

• Capital Fund Recovery Competition Grants - GRANT CLOSED HUD-administered Capital Fund Recovery Competition grants are designed to help public housing authorities significantly improve the quality of their housing stock, promote energy efficiency, and create jobs.
• Community Development Block Grant - GRANT CLOSED HUD-administered; enables local governments to help provide decent, affordable housing and create economic opportunities primarily for low and moderate income families.
• HOME Grants HUD-administered funds to enable state and local government, in partnership with community-based organizations, to acquire, construct, and rehabilitate affordable housing and provide rental assistance to poor families.
• Indian Community Development Block Grant - GRANT CLOSED Grants to tribal communities and organizations to improve housing stock, provide community facilities, improve infrastructure, and expand job opportunities by supporting the economic development.
• NEA Job Preservation Grants - GRANT CLOSED The National Endowment for the Arts has funds available for art projects and activities with preserve jobs in the non-profit arts sector threatened by the decline in philanthropic and other support during the economic downturn. Direct grants from the NEA will be available to entities that received a previous award from the NEA (during fiscal years 2006 through 2009). Additional grant funds will be available through state, regional or local arts agencies.
• Native American Housing Block Grant - GRANT CLOSED The Native American Housing Block Grant program administers these competitive grants to develop, operate, maintain, and support affordable housing for rental and homeownership housing in tribal communities.
• Neighborhood Stabilization Program Competitive Grants - GRANT CLOSED U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development (HUD) Neighborhood Stabilization Program (NSP) provides formula and competitive grants to stabilize and redevelop communities, and for technical assistance to support NSP grantees.
• New Starts / Capital Investment Grants From heavy to light rail, commuter rail to bus rapid transit systems, New Starts grants will fund new or extended transit fixed guideway systems across the country.
• Public Housing Capital Fund - GRANT CLOSED HUD-administered monies for the capital and management activities of public housing agencies, including modernization and development of public housing.
• Rural Community Facilities Program USDA-administered grants and loans for eligible cities with a population of less than 20,000; may be used to construct, enlarge, or improve community facilities, with public safety and health care facilities given top priority.
• Strengthening Communities Fund - GRANT CLOSED Grants to build the capacity of nonprofit organizations to address economic recovery issues in their communities, including helping low-income individuals secure and retain employment, earn higher wages, obtain better-quality jobs, and gain greater access to state and federal benefits and tax credits.
