Welcome to Michigan's online source for information about the American Recovery and Reinvestment Act (Recovery Act). The Recovery Act, signed into law by President Barack Obama on February 17, 2009, represents the largest federal investment increase in America's roads, bridges and mass transit in 50 years. It also provides the most significant expansion in tax cuts for low and moderate income households ever. This aggressive economic recovery plan is designed to jumpstart our economy, create jobs, and help Americans struggling to provide for their families.

Advanced Research Projects Agency - Energy (ARPA-E)- GRANT CLOSED

Total Funding Available: $150 million

Key Dates: Concept Paper Opening Date: May 12, 2009; 8 a.m. EST
Concept Paper Closing Date: June 2, 2009; 8 p.m. EST
Concept Paper Notification: No later than July 13, 2009

The ARPA-E program will respond to concept paper with indication of whether a full application is likely to be competitive. For those receiving early notification, ARPA-E will assign an individual deadline for the full application submission; the deadline for application will be thirty-one days after the date of the notification.

Program Information:   ARPA-E is a new organization within the U.S. Department of Energy (DOE), created specifically to foster research and development of transformational energy-related technologies. Transformational technologies are by definition technologies that disrupt the status quo. They are not merely better than current technologies, they are significantly better.

Grant Information: ARPA-E asks for the kernel of your technical idea in the form of a concept paper. ARPA-E will respond indicating whether a full application based on that idea is likely to receive funding.
