Grant Information: IES will provide competitive grants to state educational agencies to design, develop, and implement statewide longitudinal data systems to capture student data from preschool to high school, college, and career.
To receive an SLDS grant, a data system must:

facilitate the exchange of data among agencies and institutions within the state and between states, allowing states to use data to inform policy and practice;
-
match students with the particular teachers primarily responsible for providing instruction in various subjects;
-
match teachers with information about their certification and teacher preparation programs;
-
easily generate data, including timely reporting to parents, teachers, and school leaders on the achievement of their students;
-
ensure the quality and integrity of data contained in the system;
-
enable the state to meet reporting requirements, especially reporting on the State Fiscal Stabilization Fund
