Project Summary
The Livingston and Washtenaw Narcotics Enforcement Team (L.A.W.N.E.T.) was established in 1970 to combat the ever-increasing incidents of narcotics trafficking, auto theft, and other major crimes in Livingston and Washtenaw Counties. This multi-jurisdictional task force provides resources such as personnel and/or monetary funding to investigate these major crimes and aid in the apprehension of criminals linked to these offenses. This collaboration allows L.A.W.N.E.T. to cross jurisdictional boundaries allowing the team to pursue cases on a larger scale, and incorporate the expertise of a wider range of personnel than what can be accessed by one department. The collaboration also allows L.A.W.N.E.T. access to a greater amount of resources such as equipment and funding.
