Two appointed to Michigan Task Force on Physician's Assistants

LANSING, Mich. - Gov. Rick Snyder today announced the appointments of Lisa Hadden and James Rogers to the Michigan Task Force on Physician's Assistants.

The 13-member task force currently oversees nearly 3,300 physician's assistants throughout Michigan and determines and approves qualifications of physician's assistants.

"These individuals are great additions to this group and I am confident they will maintain the task force's mission of accountability for Michigan's physician assistants and their patients," said Snyder.

Hadden, of Mt. Pleasant, is president and CEO of the Mt. Pleasant Area Chamber of Commerce and previously served as president and CEO of Healthy Community Partners in Saginaw. She brings extensive experience in executive and community development and currently serves as executive committee member, policy committee chair and vice chair for the Central Michigan Community Hospital Board. Hadden earned a bachelor's degree in secondary education, English and Spanish and a master's degree in English composition, advanced writing and communications theory, both from Central Michigan University. She also completed a post-graduate fellowship with the North American and National Community Leadership Program. Hadden will represent the general public and replaces Thomas Siemaszko.

Rogers, of Williamsburg, retired as medical director of cardiovascular & thoracic surgery at Genesys Regional Medical Center in Grand Blanc, and currently serves as an attending physician in the emergency department at Grayling Mercy Hospital. Prior to retirement, his scope of practice included adult cardiac surgery, general thoracic surgery, peripheral vascular surgery, and trauma surgery. Rogers received a bachelor's degree in biology from Albion College and a medical degree from Wake Forest University. He will represent physicians and replaces David Weingarden.

Hadden and Rogers will serve terms expiring Dec. 31, 2015, and their appointments are subject to the advice and consent of the Senate.
