LANSING, Mich. – Gov. Rick Snyder today announced the appointment of Krysta Ryzewski to the State Historic Preservation Review Board.
The nine-member board reviews and approves national register nominations prior to their submission to the Keeper of the National Register, and provides general advice, guidance, and professional recommendations to the state Historic Preservation Office on matters related to historic preservation.
“I thank Krysta for her commitment and I am confident she will be a positive asset to this board,” Snyder said.
Ryzewski is an associate professor in the Department of Anthropology at Wayne State University, a visiting scholar at the Joukowsky Institute for Archaeology and the Ancient World at Brown University, and a graduate faculty member at the Michigan Technological University’s Department of Social Sciences. She holds a bachelor’s degree in archaeology from Boston University, a master’s degree in archaeology and heritage management from the University of Cambridge, and a PhD. in anthropology from Brown University. She will represent architectural history professionals and replace Jennifer Radcliff.
Ryzewski will serve a four-year term expiring Dec. 31, 2020.
