Appointment made to Data Collection Agency Governing Board

LANSING, Mich. - Gov. Rick Snyder today reappointed John Schrock, of Grand Ledge, to the Data Collection Agency Governing Board.

The eight-person board determines workers' compensation data requirements for establishing workers' disability compensation insurance rates.  

"John is extremely knowledgeable and has extensive experience with workers' compensation issues," said Snyder. "He is a great choice for this post and I am confident he will continue to serve the board well."

Schrock brings more than 25 years of state government experience to the board. He is the administrator of the Self-Insured Programs Division for the Workers' Compensation Agency within the Michigan Department of Licensing and Regulatory Affairs. Previously, Schrock worked for Crawford & Co. in Escanaba, where he oversaw the handling of liability, bond, property and workers' compensation claims, and conducted and supervised investigations. He holds a bachelor's degree in criminal justice and sociology from Northern Michigan University.  

Schrock will represent the executive branch of state government and serve a one-year term that expires Dec. 31, 2012. His appointment is not subject to the advice and consent of the Senate.
