Governor makes appointments to Michigan Strategic Fund

LANSING, Mich. - Gov. Rick Snyder has appointed Ron Boji, of Orchard Lake, and Craig DeNooyer, of Kalamazoo, to the Michigan Strategic Fund board of directors.

From approving private activity bonds and authorizing Community Development Block Grant applications to acting as the fiduciary agent for the 21st Century Jobs Fund, the 11-member board promotes economic development and job creation.

"Ron and Craig are exceptional choices for this board," said Snyder. "I am thankful for their willingness to serve in these roles."

Boji is president of the Boji Group, where he oversees the management, development and leasing of space in the company's real estate portfolio. He previously worked as a representative for computer hardware and software firms. He is a former member of the Michigan Chamber of Commerce and Lansing Regional Chamber of Commerce board of directors. Boji holds a bachelor's degree in building construction management from Michigan State University. He is a nominee of Senate Majority Leader Randy Richardville and replaces Paul Hodges.

DeNooyer is managing partner of Portage-based Treystar Holdings, a position he has held since 1984. In this role, he is involved with various office development, residential and commercial real estate ventures. DeNooyer earned a bachelor's degree from Calvin College and a master's degree in business administration from the University of Michigan. He is a nominee of House Speaker Jase Bolger and replaces James Petcoff.

Appointees will serve four-year terms that expire Dec. 31, 2016, and their appointments are subject to the advice and consent of the Senate.
