Governor Rick Snyder of Michigan
WHEREAS, environmental health professionals are dedicated to the improvement of public health through management of the environment and preventative measures; their efforts contribute to the continued improvement and protection of the public's general welfare; and,
WHEREAS, Michigan's environmental health professionals apply their science-based expertise to known and potential problems, which often results in avoiding health hazards and reducing total health care costs; and,
WHEREAS, during this week, we join with the Michigan Environmental Health Association to encourage citizens throughout the Great Lakes State to learn more about environmental health professionals and to recognize their many contributions;
NOW, THEREFORE, I, Rick Snyder, governor of Michigan, do hereby proclaim Sunday, March 17 through Saturday, March 23, 2013 as Michigan Environmental Health Week.
