October 11, 2013: Salvation Army of Royal Oak Citadel Day

WHEREAS, The Salvation Army of Royal Oak Citadel has been a mainstay within the community for 90 years, Doing the Most Good by offering food and shelter assistance to neighbors in need.   

AND WHEREAS, The Salvation Army of Royal Oak Citadel is a faith-based, nonprofit organization dedicated to serving the people of Royal Oak without discrimination.

AND WHEREAS, The Salvation Army of Royal Oak Citadel was established by Ensign Eva Symmonds in 1923 and has been dedicated to serving southeast Oakland County ever since. 

AND WHEREAS, The Salvation Army has expanded the vital social services it  has provided to the community over nine decades, beyond worship opportunities and food and shelter to also include utility assistance, after school programming, outdoor activities and music and performing arts.

AND WHEREAS, The Salvation Army is one of the most trusted human service organizations with the Royal Oak Citadel committed to Doing the Most Good with community contributions, time and resources with $.85 of every dollar donated going directly to programming and services that benefit local residents. 

NOW, THEREFORE, I, Rick Snyder, governor of Michigan, do hereby proclaim October 11, 2013 as The Salvation Army of Royal Oak Citadel day.
