This morning, Governor Snyder signed a bill reforming Blue Cross Blue Shield of Michigan, turning it into a not-for-profit mutual company.

"This will allow Blue Cross to be successful. The Affordable Care Act was going to create a major impediment in terms of how they were going to operate," Governor Snyder said. "They have a bright future because of this legislation."

Jennifer Kluge of the Michigan Business and Professional Association spoke about the positive impact this reform will have on small businesses. "Governor Snyder's initiative to modernize Michigan's archaic health insurance system is essential to providing real relief to Michigan businesses and the people they employ," Kluge said.
