April is the Month of the Military Child

Year of Military Child

This week, Governor Snyder proclaimed April as "Month of the Military Child" at a ceremony with military families, elected officials and Major General Gregory J. Vadnais, Director of Military and Veterans Affairs for Michigan.

In his proclamation, Governor Snyder noted:

"More than 17,000 of Michigan's children and youth have been directly affected by the military deployment of at least one parent.

"The recognition of Month of the Military Child will allow us to pay tribute to military children and youth for their commitment, their struggles and their unconditional support of our troops -- because when parents serve in the military, their kids are heroes, too."
