Michigan is going 'Purple' to raise awareness for Alzheimer's

June 1, 2015

Governor Rick Snyder has proclaimed June 2015 as 'Alzheimer's Awareness Month,' and Michigan is going 'Purple!' in support of this effort.

Why is Alzheimer’s awareness so important?

Because we have more than 180,000 Michiganders that suffer from this terrible disease.

As Michiganders, we need to reach out and show our support for the people, families and caregivers who are affected by Alzheimer’s.

By recognizing Alzheimer’s Awareness Month, we raise awareness and inspire action.  By going 'Purple!', we’re demonstrating our commitment to doing our part to fight Alzheimer’s.  Together, we will find a cure.

Governor Snyder's website, Facebook, and Twitter accounts will go 'Purple!' for the month of June during Alzheimer's Awareness Month.  Use the hashtag "#PureMIPurple" to join the discussion online.
