Board of Boiler Rules

The Board of Boiler Rules was created by 1965 PA 290. The responsibilities of the board are to prescribe uniform rules for boilers; provide for the licensing of boiler inspectors, installers, and repairers; set fees for licenses, permits, inspections, and certificates; and to provide penalties for violation of the act.

The 12 board members are appointed by the Governor, with the advice and consent of the senate, to serve a term of 4 years. Upon expiration of a term, a member may continue to serve until a successor is appointed. 11 board members should have substantial experience with boilers, while 1 board member will represent the general public.
