MPSC Approves Settlement Agreements Authorizing Three Natural Gas Utilities to Reconcile Their 2007-2008 Gas Cost Recovery Revenues and Expenses

The Michigan Public Service Commission (MPSC) today approved three settlement agreements authorizing Michigan Consolidated Gas Company, SEMCO Energy Gas Company and Wisconsin Public Service Corporation to reconcile their 2007-2008 gas cost recovery (GCR) revenues and expenses.

In Case No. U-15042-R, the MPSC approved a settlement agreement authorizing Michigan Consolidated Gas Company to reconcile its GCR revenues and expenses for the 12 month period ended March 2008.  The agreement found a net under-recovery of $9,625,045 that the utility will roll into its 2008-2009 GCR reconciliation case.  The utility, the MPSC staff, the Attorney General, the Residential Ratepayer Consortium and the Michigan Community Action Agency Association participated in the settlement proceedings.

In Case No. U-15043-R, the MPSC approved a settlement agreement authorizing SEMCO Energy Gas Company to roll a net under-recovery of $107,214 into its 2008-2009 GCR plan costs.  The utility, the Attorney General, the Residential Ratepayer Consortium, and the MPSC staff participated in the settlement proceedings.

In Case No. U-15350-R, the MPSC approved a settlement agreement authorizing Wisconsin Public Service Corporation to roll a net under-recovery of $185,612 into its 2009-2010 GCR plan.  The utility and the MPSC staff participated in the settlement proceedings.

The MPSC is an agency within the Department of Energy, Labor & Economic Growth.
