MDOT announces US-127 ARRA groundbreaking event

WHAT: The Michigan Department of Transportation (MDOT) invites the public to attend a groundbreaking ceremony for a US-127 Resurfacing project in Isabella County. MDOT is hosting this American Recovery and Reinvestment Act (ARRA) project event.

Driving Directions: Take Exit 135 (Blanchard Road), follow signs to the Shepherd park-n-ride lot, located right off the exit

BACKGROUND: This $9.3 million project is funded by the American Recovery and Reinvestment Act (ARRA). Work begins south of Blanchard Road and extends to the US-127 BR south junction in Mt. Pleasant. Lane closures and traffic shifts will be in effect on northbound and southbound US-127. This project, expected to be complete in November 2009, will benefit motorists by providing a smoother ride.
