Eastern Upper Peninsula Citizen Advisory Council to Meet July 16 in Curtis

The Eastern Upper Peninsula Citizen Advisory Council (CAC) for the Department of Natural Resources will meet Thursday, July 16 from 6:30 to 8:30 p.m. at the Curtis Community Center, located at W. 17353 Davis St. in Curtis.

Topics for discussion include:

-- Proposed new trout regulations
-- Supplemental feeding
-- Update on Deer Management Plan
-- Update on the Forestry Coalition
-- Deer carcass removal responsibility
-- Update on status of radio tower at DNR Newberry South Station
-- Fisheries management on Manistique lakes

The CACs were formed to give U.P. citizens more input into DNR regional programs and activities. The councils, in both the Eastern U.P. and Western U.P., represent a wide array of outdoor recreation interests and help the DNR identify ways to be more effective across the region.

CAC meetings are open to the public. If you would like to be considered as a future CAC member, please fill out the nomination form found on the DNR Web site at www.michigan.gov/dnr. Click on Commissions, Boards & Committees, then click on Upper Peninsula Citizen Advisory Councils to find the nomination form.
