Resurfacing and other improvements start Monday in Calhoun County

HIGHWAY: M-199, M-96, M-37 and I-94 Business Loop (BL)

CLOSEST CITY: Albion, Battle Creek and Springfield

START DATE: July 6, 2009

END DATE: Sept. 25, 2009

PROJECT: 3.37 miles of micro-surfacing, sidewalk, and pedestrian signal work on:

- M-199 (Austin Avenue) from the I-94 BL (Eaton Street) north to 27 Mile Road.

- M-96 (Helmer Road) from M-96 (Columbia Avenue) north to I-94 BL (Dickman Road).

- M-37 (Bedford Road) and on I-94 BL (Michigan Avenue) from Porter Street east to Raymond Road.

The new sidewalk on M-96 (Helmer Road) in Battle Creek portion of the project is funded by the American Recovery and Reinvestment Act (ARRA).

TRAFFIC RESTRICTIONS: Lane closures with direction by a flagging operation
