A public hearing to consider the possible commutation of sentence for Maurice Anthony Newson, #370171

The Michigan Parole and Commutation Board will hold a public hearing on Thursday, July 30, 2009 , to consider the possible commutation of sentence for Maurice Anthony Newson, #370171.  It will be held at 11:00 a.m. at the Duane Waters Health Center, Jackson, Michigan.

Maurice Anthony Newson was sentenced on November 17, 2004, from Bay County to a term of 2y - 2y for the crime of Possession of a Firearm During the Commission of a Felony, to a term of 2y6m - 5y for the crime of Fleeing a Police Officer 3rd Degree, to a term of 18y - 36y for the crime of Assault with Intent to Commit Murder, and to a term of 10y-20y for the crime of Possession with Intent to Deliver 50-449 Grams of Cocaine.

The hearing is required under MCLA 791.244 prior to any recommendation for executive clemency by the Michigan Parole and Commutation Board.
