DELEG's Bureau of Energy Systems Announces Michigan Energy Efficiency & Conservation Block Grant Workshop

July 21, 2009 - The Michigan Department of Energy, Labor & Economic Growth (DELEG), Bureau of Energy Systems will conduct a local government workshop today to discuss the Energy Efficiency & Conservation Block Grant Program (EECBG) of the American Recovery and Reinvestment Act 2009 (ARRA). This workshop is for representatives of non-entitlement cities and townships, which are those with a population of less than 35,000 according to the 2007 census, and non-entitlement counties, which are the counties other than Genesee, Jackson, Kent, Livingston, Macomb, Oakland, Ottawa, St. Clair, Washtenaw or Wayne. For non-entitlement governments that cannot attend the workshop, the state will hold a one-time webcast with the same agenda, but with briefer coverage.

The workshop and webcast will inform participants of $17.4 million in EECBG funding opportunities, program objectives, application process and timelines and will offer an opportunity for questions and answers. Event co-sponsors are the Michigan Municipal League, Michigan Association of Counties, Michigan Townships Association, Northwest Michigan Council of Governments, Northeast Michigan Council of Governments and Southeast Michigan Council of Governments. The workshop and webinar will be held:
