Construction begins next week on the Elm Road bridge over I-94 near Jackson

PROJECT: Bridge repair is expected to begin Monday on the Elm Road bridge over I-94 in Jackson.

TRAFFIC RESTRICTIONS: Starting Monday, there will be overnight, full closures of I-94 to replace and set beams on the bridge. Both directions of I-94 will be closed from 9 p.m. to 6 a.m. the following morning, Monday through Thursday. When I-94 is closed, traffic will be directed on and off the highway using the ramps at the interchange.

Once the new beams are set, work will continue on the bridge until approximately late September. During construction, northbound Elm Road traffic will be maintained on the bridge, with southbound Elm Road traffic detoured. In addition, there will be a separate truck detour posted for truck traffic traveling from eastbound I-94 to northbound Elm Road.

There will be shoulder closures and intermittent nighttime single- lane closures on I-94 during construction on the Elm Road bridge.
