Contact:  Judy Palnau (517) 241-3323

August 20, 2009

The Michigan Saves advisory group will hold its first meeting at 1:30 p.m. on August 26, in Lansing.    The group will engage stakeholders and technical experts to establish the parameters of the Michigan Saves program.  The public is invited to attend.

Michigan Saves serves as an administrative structure that operates a trust fund to serve as an initial capital pool available to finance the installation of energy efficiency measures with no up‑front cost to all utility customers (commercial, industrial, residential).

The Michigan Public Service Commission (MPSC) encourages active participation from utilities, financial institutions, vendors and contractors, local government and others to provide input on the design of this program.

The meeting will be held in Hearing Room A at the MPSC's offices, located at 6545 Mercantile Way.

Additional information is available on the Michigan Saves Web site:  MichiganSaves.org.

Specific questions may be addressed to Amy Rittenhouse at Public Sector Consultants at arittenhouse@pscinc.com.

On April 22, the MPSC awarded Public Sector Consultants a $8,102,943 grant to develop the Michigan Saves system, a statewide innovative energy efficiency and distributed renewable energy financing system.

The MPSC is an agency within the Department of Energy, Labor & Economic Growth.
