Lane closure on EB I-496 to affect Monday morning commute to Lansing

CLOSEST CITY: Lansing

START DATE: Friday, Aug. 28, 2009

END DATE: Monday, Aug. 31, 2009

PROJECT: Starting Friday, there will be a continuous single-lane closure on eastbound I-496 for concrete pavement patching. The closure will stretch between Waverly Road and Cedar Street in Lansing.

TRAFFIC RESTRICTIONS: The closure will be in place starting at approximately 1 p.m. on Friday, Aug. 28, and will remain in place until Monday evening, Aug. 31.

Motorists commuting into Lansing on Monday morning are strongly encouraged to seek an alternate route to downtown Lansing. Alternate routes from the west include I-69 to US-127 to I-496 and M-43 (Saginaw Street). Alternate routes from the south and east include M-99 (Martin Luther King Jr. Boulevard) and I-96 Business Loop (Cedar Street).
