A public hearing to consider the possible parole of Benjamin Lee Jones, #223259

The Michigan Parole and Commutation Board will hold a public hearing on Monday, September 21, 2009 to consider the possible parole of Benjamin Lee Jones, #223259. It will be at 11:00 a.m. at the Handlon Training Center, Richard Handlon Correctional Facility, Ionia, MI.

Benjamin Lee Jones is serving a Life sentence for the crime of Conspiracy to Possess with Intent to Deliver Over 650 Grams of Cocaine.  He was sentenced on March 18, 1992 from Kent County.

Barbara Sampson, Chairperson of the Michigan Parole and Commutation Board, will conduct the hearing under the provisions of the Lifer Law, MCLA 791.234.

By Statute, prisoners serving a life sentence under MCL 333.74012A1, must serve 15, 17 1/2 or 20 calendar years, based on predetermined factors, before the parole and commutation board can obtain jurisdiction.
