Brighton Recreation Area Riding Stable Hosting Haunted Forest Hayrides Every Weekend in October

Brighton Recreation Area Riding Stable is hosting family friendly, but still haunted and scary, "GO-Get Outdoors" hayrides in the woods each weekend in October.

The hayrides will be held every Friday and Saturday evening, from 7:30 to 10:30 p.m., beginning with the "premiere night" on Friday, Oct. 2.

Admission is $10 per person, and folks who show up for the hayride on premiere night will receive $4 off the regular price. Discount coupons can also be found on the Brighton Recreation Area Riding Stable's Web site at www.brightonrecridingstable.com. All proceeds will go to the Brighton Recreation Area Riding Stable to help pay for their continued operations.

The riding stable is located at 6660 Chilson Rd. in Howell. For more information about the haunted hayrides, contact Christie Wilson at the riding stable by calling 810-534-5063. Brighton Recreation Area is located at 6360 Chilson Rd. in Howell. Camping is still open at Brighton Recreation Area for these haunted hayride weekends. Camping reservations can be made online at www.midnrreservations.com, or by calling the DNR central reservation system at 800-447-2757.

All motor vehicles entering a state park or recreation area must display a Motor Vehicle Permit, available for purchase at the entrance. Cost is $24 for a resident annual and $6 for a resident daily. A non-resident annual is $29 and a non-resident daily is $8. Join the DNR in celebrating the 90th anniversary of Michigan State Parks (1919-2009) this year.
