Brimley State Park, in Michigan's Upper Peninsula, is hosting a "GO-Get Outdoors" Winter Wonderland festival on Saturday,
Feb. 13, from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m.

The Lake Superior Recreation Club will be on-hand at the park's picnic shelter to assist in a number of games, such as snowshoe disc golf and a snowman building contest. Games may vary depending on the snow conditions. Visitors can also expect some warm refreshments and a roaring fire at the park's day use shelter. There will also be a raffle drawing for those interested, with prizes from Tubbs Snowshoes, a market leader in snowshoes, and Moosejaw, a clothing supplier.

This winter wonderland event will also include a snowshoe making class. Cost is $130 for the snowshoe making kit, but it does not include the harness. The class is limited, so contact the park at 906-248-3422 to make a reservation for this class.

Brimley State Park is located at 9200 West 6 Mile Rd. in Brimley, along the beautiful shore of Lake Superior's Whitefish Bay. For more information about this event, the park, accessibility, or persons needing accommodations to attend this event, contact the park supervisor at 906-248-3422 (TTY/TDD711 Michigan Relay Center for the hearing impaired) or visit the park's Web site at www.michigan.gov/Brimley .
