March 21, 2007 -- The Michigan Department of Transportation (MDOT) recently honored two of its photographers and three graphic artists for their work in creating four unique commemorative 50th anniversary posters for the Mackinac Bridge. This year, the ever-popular Michigan landmark reaches an important milestone, 50 years since first opening to traffic, and MDOT designed the special posters to make them available to the public.

"We are pleased to recognize the work of these individuals and we're just as excited to have these attractive posters available to the public," said State Transportation Director Kirk T. Steudle. "Our staff has done an outstanding job -- not only for us but for the people of Michigan, as well."

The following MDOT employees were honored:

-Photographers Tim Burke and Sara Gross
-Graphic artists Randy Debler, Gary Eiseler, and Kris Hart
