Agency: Transportation

August 25, 2008 -- Resurfacing work is scheduled to begin Tuesday, Sept. 2, on a 3.5-mile section of M-25. The work, which is located near the village of Forestville, extends from Russell Road north to Umbreit Road in Sanilac County. The project, advanced as part of Gov. Jennifer M. Granholm's 2008 economic stimulus package, includes safety upgrades, shoulder paving, drainage improvements and resurfacing, and is expected to be completed by mid November.

Pyramid Paving and Contracting Company, of Essexville, is the prime contractor for this $2.5 million project.

Single lane closures will be in effect for the duration of this project, with traffic maintained using flag control. The work is weather-dependent.

"As always, motorists should use caution, allow extra travel time, and expect delays," said Doug Wilson, MDOT Cass City Transportation Service Center manager.

Upon completion, this resurfacing work will promote safety and improve the traffic flow on M-25 for years to come.

For information about these projects and other lane closures, visit MDOT's Web site at www.michigan.gov/laneclosures.
