Agency: Transportation

COUNTY: Delta

HIGHWAY: US-2/US-41/M-35

CLOSEST CITY: Escanaba

ESTIMATED STARTING DATE: Monday, July 6, 2009

ESTIMATED COMPLETION DATE: Thursday, Sept. 3, 2009

PROJECT: The Michigan Department of Transportation (MDOT) will be repairing the substructure piers on the Escanaba River bridge. The project also will include application of the SafeLane anti-icing and anti-skid surface to the bridge deck.

One lane of traffic in each direction will be maintained at all times. Work will be done Monday through Thursday of each week, with lane closures lifted each Friday, Saturday and Sunday.

For up-to-date information on this project, go to the list of statewide lane closures at: www.michigan.gov/drive.

CUSTOMER BENEFIT: This project will extend the service life of the bridge and improve winter driving safety for motorists.
