BACKGROUND: In 2011, construction will take place on Chicago Drive from Main Street to east of 40th Avenue. The estimated $10 million project includes reconstruction and resurfacing, pavement repairs, drainage assessments and upgrades, and deck resurfacing on the eastbound bridge over the Macatawa River. Intersection safety upgrades will include the construction of Michigan Left turn lanes with intersection realignment.
Business owners and interested residents are encouraged to stop by to provide input and review the project with MDOT representatives before the designs are completed.
