As spring spreads color across the land, excitement fills the air. One of the most spectacular sporting events breezes into racetracks across Michigan.

Harness racing showcases the trotters and the pacers at Hazel Park Harness Raceway starting April 14 and Jackson Harness Raceway opens for live racing on April 26. 

Live Thoroughbred racing hits the scene at Great Lakes Downs in Muskegon, Michigan.  The state's only all-Thoroughbred racetrack, Great Lakes Downs' season stretches from May 6 through November.

Quarter Horse, Arabian and American Paint racing are featured at Mount Pleasant Meadows from May 6 through September.
